James’ Obituary James J. “Jeff” Sachen, 69, of Lookout, passed away on December 19, 2018. James was born on August 28, 1949 in Aurora, Illinois to the late James P. and Emma Jane Sachen. He grew up in Elgin, Illinois where he earned his Eagle Scout honors and graduated in 1967 from St. Edward’s High School.

After serving in the U.S. Navy in the early 1970s he and his father ran a data processing supplies business for 30 years. Jeff loved rafting and organized raft trips for family and friends through two generations. He also ran the local AYSO youth soccer program and helped establish the soccer program at the local high school.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Lynelle Ducommun and his grandparents. James is survived by his son, Steven (Alicia) Sachen of Sleepy Hollow, IL; daughter, Catherine Sachen of Lookout; three grandchildren; sister, Jodeen Sachen; two nieces; and the mother of his children, Carol Sachen. There are no services scheduled.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
