James “Jim” E. Hansen September 22, 1940 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card James E. “Jim” Hansen, 78, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on September 22, 1940 to the late Vernon and Bernice (Erickson) Hansen in Bangor, WI. He was educated in the schools of Bangor, where Jim was a varsity baseball and basketball player.

He was a lifetime fan and proud booster of his local Cardinals. Jim served actively in the US Navy from April 13, 1959 to March 4, 1961, and was honorably discharged following the completion of Naval Reserve service in 1964. On May 11, 1968 he married Sue Nichols at the First Presbyterian Church in Kenosha.

Jim worked as a Production Planner at Eaton Dynamatic Corporation for 17 years. Jim also worked for the City of Kenosha for over 20 years, retiring as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Jim was a long-time member of the Unity Masonic Lodge – #367.

He was Past Master of Southport Blue Lodge. Jim was a proud Mason and furthered his service as a Racine York Rite member, Commandry Council Chapter delegate, and as a Knights Templar. He remained very active in the Kenosha Shrine Club and Tripoli Shrine Temple.

Jim was also a member of the Independent Order of Vikings – Sigurd Lodge #30, and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose – Lodge #286. Jim was an active reader and avid hunter. He enjoyed his land and cabin, playing euchre with friends and generally making his social rounds about town.

Jim is survived by his wife Sue, his son Erik, of Port Edwards, WI, his brothers Vernon “Bud” (Sue) Hansen of Bangor and William Hansen, his sister Lori Betts, both of Sparta, his sister-in-law Diane (Bob) Smith and his Aunt Carol Michener. Jim is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two brothers Terry “Took” Hansen and Dennis L. Hansen and two sisters Janice Craig and Marla Dawn Hansen.

Masonic Services for Jim will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
