James “Jim” W. Taylor, 80, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at his residence in Eldon, Missouri. He was born September 6, 1938 in Eldon, Missouri the son of the late Daniel O. and Bernice (Raines) Taylor. On June 20, 1959 in Eldon, Missouri he was united in marriage to Norma “Joan” (Bunch) Taylor who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: Sons, James “J.T.” Taylor (Janet Conner) of Versailles, MO; Jeffrey D. Taylor (Rebecca) of Jefferson City, MO Daughter, Janet Mertens (Jeff) of Loose Creek, MO Sisters, Joyce Schulte of Eldon, MO; Vicki Moritz of Jefferson City, MO Six Grandchildren, Marc Taylor (Sarah), Mylee Coble, Sommer Taylor, Ariell Williams, Steven Ross Dunlap & Cole Mertens Five Great Grandchildren, Lily, Keegan, Kodi, Zander & Ayanna A brother, Daniel R. Taylor and a sister, Linda Wilson preceded him in death. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldon, MO and was also very active in many organizations including the Eldon Lion’s Club and Eldon Habitat for Humanity. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran, retiring after twenty years of service.

He returned to the Eldon area where he operated or was employed at several businesses such as Antenna Engineers, Mall-In-One, Taylor Appliance Center, the Ford Dealership as well as several local banks. Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2018 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, MO. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM also at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev.

David White officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldon City Cemetery with Full Military Honors presented. Memorials in his name are suggested to the Central Missouri Honor Flight.
