James Willis (Jim) Vaughan, 74, of Lawrenceville passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018. A United States Air Force Veteran, he served in Vietnam and then was employed by the Centers for Disease Control as an Epidemiologist. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and June Scott Vaughan, and a sister, Carolyn Hook.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Marlene Vaughan of Lawrenceville; daughter, Sherrie Vaughan Smith; grandchildren, Carrie Gasperson, Kimberly Daughtery, Patrick Smith, Nathaniel Smith; great grandchildren, Kayley, Morgan, Ellie, and Little V; several cousins, a niece and two nephews. Graveside funeral services, with Military Honors, will be held Monday, October 22, at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
