Obituary for James Louise Miller Mr. James Louis Miller, age 67, of Douglasville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018. He was born February 21, 1951 in Knoxville, TN the son of the late Mr. Frank Louis Miller, Sr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Ann McFarland Miller. He graduated from Knoxville Catholic High School in 1970, a member of the first football team.

Mr. Miller worked for various building supply companies, including Shaad Management Company in Knoxville, TN. Later in his life he worked in the Blood Collection Unit for the American Red Cross. Jim’s favorite volunteer work was being Santa Claus for church functions, nursing homes, and special needs children in Douglas County.

He was an avid fisherman; he was featured in the LaGrange newspaper for the largest catfish caught in West Point Lake. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sewell Miller of Douglasville; daughters, Beth Ferrer of Athens, Jamie Miller of Lithia Springs; mother, Elizabeth Ann Miller of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Alice and Tom McWatters of Franklin, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Frances Miller of Westminster, MD; grandchildren, Chase Ferrer and Jorden Miller; several nieces and nephews also survive. According to Mr. Miller’s wishes he was cremated.

The family will receive friends at Saint Theresa of the Child of Jesus, Friday, July 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday, July 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Saint Theresa of the Child of Jesus Catholic Church in Douglasville. Inurnment will follow at 1:30 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Carrollton.
