Jimmy was born in Philadelphia, to the late Dennis and Mary (nee Madden) Ward. Jimmy was a driven, yet stubborn, Irish man, who loved life, and would not take no for an answer.

Whatever obstacle stood in his way, his ambition and relentless nature always made sure he got to the path of success. He enjoyed going to the movies, swishing red wine, and being with his family. He was notorious for reading the Philadelphia Inquirer cover to cover, and watching all Philadelphia teams play.

He was the king of one liners, some would say a wiseass, and usually left his audience with a laugh and a smile. He was a charmer, and a magnet for the ladies. Amongst his sarcastic side, he is well known for his unwavering care and support he gave to his beloved late wife, Margaret “Meg”.

She truly was his cherished sweetheart, and one of the only people who could humble him. Jimmy was a proud veteran, who served in the US Air Force. He shared many tales of his time abroad serving his country.

He had a lengthy career with the Pile Drivers Union, Local 454, where he gained many brothers for life. He will forever be remembered for his crystal blue eyes, vibrant smile, and belly laugh. As Frank Sinatra once said, “I did it my way” and that’s what Jimmy did, lived his life his way.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife Margaret (nee Otey) Ward, brothers; Charlie, Neil , Patrick, Arthur, Dennis, Agnes and Peggy. Jimmy is survived and missed by his daughter, Sherry Waldron (Mark), granddaughters; Natasha Waldron and Alyson Waldron Cedrone (Vincent), 2 great granddaughters, Kylie and Kelsey Higbee, and Baby Cedrone who is on the way, sisters; Anne Wagner (Richard “Rip”) and Maureen Smith (John), and many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.
