Obituary for James Paul Morgan Morgan, James Paul Formerly of Bloomington and Paynes-ville MN, passed away peacefully at his home in New Brighton, MN July 4th, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on June 19th, 1927 in Wagner, South Dakota and served in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Bishop O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls, SD. He then ventured to Minneapolis and attended Minneapolis Institute of Art and while there met his future wife, Olive Bastien.

Jim and Olive were married in 1948 and settled in Bloomington where they lived for 40 years. Jim worked for many years loading cement block and driving trucks, wrestling and boxing in between, before completing his career as a Graphic Artist for the Bloomington School District where he retired after 31 years. Jim’s past-times included hunting, fishing, coaching football at Assumption middle school and Boxing at the Richfield and Minneapolis Police Gym where his teams and boxers won many local titles.

He enjoyed attending the University of MN and many other wrestling matches watching his sons and grandsons and attending the socials to visit with all his friends. Jim is survived by his loving wife Olive and their 12 children, Glenn, Mike, Bonnie, Mary, Ellen, Janet, Diana, Danny, John, Gordy, Marty, and Jenny and their spouses as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great, grandchild. He enjoyed spending time with his family attending the weddings, graduations, reunions, and sporting events of his many family members.

Visitation 5-7PM TODAY, July 6, 2018, at Washburn-McReavy New Brighton Chapel, 706 4th Ave. NW, and also one hour prior to the service at church. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Ave.

NW, New Brighton. Interment 9AM Monday, July 9, 2018 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, meet at Assembly Area #5.
