OBITUARY James W. Salta February 24, 1929 – October 18, 2018 James W. Salta passed away on October 18, 2018. He was 89 years old. James was born on February 24, 1929 along with his twin sister Catherine (Sr.

Marina) in Garfield, NJ to James Salta and Catherine Magdalena Salta. James was one of 7 children. In addition to serving in the U.S. Army, James was a graduate of New York University and received his master’s degree from Columbia University.

James was an Assistant Principal in the Bronx, NY. In addition, he was a conductor and learned to play every instrument in the orchestra except the harp. James’ beloved wife, Evelyn Salta passed away on April 24, 2018.

James is survived by his three sons James J. (Lynne), Mark (Jane) and Thomas (Liza) Salta. Also surviving are his five grandchildren J.J., Jonathan, Robbie, TJ and Tyler. Reposing at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes 824 Scarsdale Ave Scarsdale NY 10583 on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9PM.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday October 22, 2018 10AM at St. Pius X Church Scarsdale. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to EMC Frontline Pregnancy Centers or CNEWA -Catholic Near East Welfare Association.
