James Steele Jr., 56 of Fergus Falls passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019, of a massive heart attack at the Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. James William Steele Jr. was born on August 24, 1962, in Fargo, North Dakota and was adopted by James Sr. and LaVonne (Olson) Steele. He grew up in Lisbon, North Dakota and graduated from the Lisbon High School in 1980.

James and Dana Lea Siebert were married on December 31, 1994, in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon. They started their beautiful life together in Lisbon and had three beautiful children, Tanner, Taylor and Braeden. In 2007, they moved to Fergus Falls where they made their home by Wall Lake.

He was employed with North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. Jim lived his life for his family and friends. His wife and kids were his world.

He loved watching his kids in various sports and was Braeden’s biggest supporter with hockey, he never missed a practice or game. Jim loved to work with his hands, tinkering and fixing, which he got from his dad, and especially liked doing wood projects and restoring furniture with his wife. He enjoyed life with many activities.

He loved working on vehicles with his son Tanner, enjoyed being goofy and just loving life with his daughter Taylor, and enjoyed carving walking sticks with his son Braeden. In his pass time he loved riding motorcycle with his wife, he loved the outdoors, spent may days hiking, fishing and kayaking, hunting with his best friends, father-in-law and son, and enjoying life by the lake. He has touched many people’s lives over the years and is held so dear to each and everyone.

His love for people showed every time he smiled, he was truly the kindest person you could ever meet. He was always there with a helping hand. He will be so deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Dana Siebert Steele; three children, Tanner James (McKenzie Watkins) Steele of Fergus Falls, Taylor Sierra (Brady Sorby) Steele of Fargo and Braeden Riley Steele of Fergus Falls; two sisters, Tami Kimbrough of Fargo and Nancy (Roy) Lease of St. Cloud; father and mother in law, Dale (Kay) Siebert of Wahpeton and Linda Chally of Fergus Falls; two sisters-in-law, Kari Siebert-Winter of Northfield and Amy Siebert of Fergus Falls; and by numerous relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and LaVonne Steele; brother-in-law, Dwayne Kimbrough and nephew, Aaron Lease. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Jim’s Celebration of Life will be 10 AM, Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM, with a Prayer Service and Sharing of Memories at 7 PM, at the church. Clergy: Rev.
