FERRANG, James P., age 87, of Centerville, passed away in peace on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Jim was born on November 21, 1930 to Emmett and Anna (Stetor) Ferrang in Pittsburgh, PA. He earned his undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and was a member of the Honor Societies SIGMA TAU and ETA KAPPA NU.

Jim served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Church of the Incarnation. Jim retired from Cutler-Hammer, Eaton Corporation after 32 years.

He was a talented singer, entertainer, and musician who loved performing, especially playing the ukulele. He was a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Screen Actors Guild. Jim enjoyed Broadway musicals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, golf, and traveling.

He was a part of Dayton Philharmonic Volunteer Association preparing elementary school students for field trips to The Schuster Center for concerts. He also volunteered for the Dayton Performing Arts. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Cyrus; siblings, Elizabeth Barsotti; Mary Louise Bricker; Robert E. Ferrang.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy (Fink) Ferrang; children, Ann (Clark) Lockett; James P. Ferrang; Patrick Ferrang; Antoinette (Jon) Bloom; Joan (Rameen) Tabatabaian; Jennifer (Mike) Norcia; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; brothers, Joseph E. Ferrang; John S. Ferrang; numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all the friends of Bill W. for more than thirty successful years of support, the staff at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, and the staff at Miami Valley Hospital Cancer Care Center. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave.

, Centerville. Family will greet friends following the service at the Incarnation Parish Family Center for lunch. In memory of Jim, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420, or Playhouse South Community Theater, playhousesouth.org listed under “tickets”.
