Obituary for Jamie Lynn Nelson-Hicks Jamie Lynn Nelson-Hicks, 42, of Dermott, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018. Jamie was born December 7, 1975 in Marianna, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Carolyn Gilbert Nelson. Jamie attended McGehee Elementary and was a graduate of West Memphis High School.
She graduated from University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Bachelor’s degree in criminal Justice and sociology. Jamie was a graduate of the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy and worked for McGehee Police Department and Pulaski County Sheriff’s office. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the beach.
Jamie loved taking care of her family. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, R.E. and May Nelson and J.L. and Lillian Gilbert. Survivors include her husband, Loy D. “Chip” Hicks II of Dermott, AR; sons, Thomas Chase Hicks and Bradley Plummer Hicks of Dermott, AR; brother, Kirk Nelson of Dermott, AR; sister, Christie Lampshire of Craig, CO and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. John Compton and Kim Ellington officiating.
