Obituary for Jan L. Sill Jan Sill 1946-2018 Jan Patterson Sill served her way into Heaven on June 21, 2018, a clean Ace. Jan passed peacefully with the love of her life by her side and was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She now dwells in the house of the Lord after a courageous and lengthy battle of Lyme Disease and Cancer.
Jan was born November 5, 1946 in Bakersfield, CA, the middle child to Christine and Keith Patterson. She married the love of her life Andrew Duffy Sill on January 28, 1967 and was married for 51 glorious years. Jan was a wife of noble character who learned her way around the kitchen cooking up all the wild game Duffy brought home.
Jan loved to entertain and welcomed family and friends into her home to enjoy the fabulous Dove and Duck dinner parties. Jan’s eggs benedict was a staple on Christmas mornings and once you had Jan’s, nothing ever compared. Jan was an avid tennis player and was instrumental in the development of Laurel Glen Tennis Club and managing the pro shop.
She loved giving doubles strategy lessons to the Garces High School tennis team. Jan could be found around town at numerous bridge groups with many family and friends. She was a member of the Junior League and loved serving in her community.
Jan is survived by her husband, Duffy and her children, Lisa Biernot (Scott), Bret Sill (Shawn) and Brady Charrette (Brian) and grandchildren Drew Biernot, Kristian and Stella Sill, and Jack and Ryder Charrette. Jan is also survived by her sisters, Sharon Balfanz (Jack), Lori Malkin (Bob). Sister and brother in Laws, Laurie & Tule Kriezenbeck, Martha Sill, Patty & Chod Sill and Meggan & Dr. Vince Phillips and many nieces and nephews all loved dearly by Aunt Jannie.
Thank you to Around The Clock and all my mom’s caregivers y’all were so amazing. Thanks for taking such great care of Jan and Duffy. Thank you, Hoffman Hospice Home and all the nurses that cared for Jan.
Momma you will be missed, all your pearls of wisdom will be hidden in our hearts. We love you so much, you are truly a Proverbs 31 woman. It was Jan’s desire that Monsignor Craig Harrison perform her Memorial Service.
