Jane Louise Kinney, 73, passed away suddenly and very unexpectedly at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke, CO on March 20, 2019. Jane was the daughter of the late I.W. and Esther “Ruth” Mervine and was born July 13, 1945, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The family lived in Lawrence, KS where “Janie” and her brother, Wes “Buck,” grew up.

She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1964. Jane married Irvin “Wayne” Jolliffe in 1965 in Oskaloosa, KS. The couple lived in Oskaloosa for a short time before moving to St. Francis, KS where they raised their two children, Irvin “Irv” and Rhonda, until 1978 when the family moved to Joes, CO.

After a couple of years there, the marriage ended, and Jane returned to St. Francis. She married Doran Lorimer in 1986 and enjoyed being a fisherman’s wife for several years until that marriage ended. In 1996 Jane met her “Angel” Troy Kinney.

They married in 1998 in St. Francis but soon relocated to Holyoke. Besides her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Jane’s main priority in life was taking care of everyone else, especially her family. She was a wonderful wife, fabulous mom, amazing grandma, greatest great-grandma, and an extraordinary friend.

Jane’s focus her entire life was doing whatever she could to give her children and other family members the best life possible, always putting their needs before her own. She could carry on a conversation with absolutely anyone and was well known for her hugs. The running joke was that she hugged everyone, except Troy, but he got special hugs.

No stranger ever walked away from meeting Jane without feeling like they had a new friend and most likely knowing at least a little bit about her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. And no one who knew her had any doubts about how much Jane loved them! Jane was a very hard worker.

She spent many years as a grocery store clerk and loved meeting and interacting with so many different people on a daily basis. Over the years, she also spent time working as a waitress, convenience store clerk, babysitter, and other jobs, but always jobs where she was helping someone. Whenever Jane had time, she loved spending time with loved ones, playing games, being outside, and animals of all kinds.

Proceeding Jane in death were her parents and her beloved grandson Irvin (Little Wayne) Jolliffe III. Left to mourn this beautiful woman’s passing are her husband Troy of Holyoke, children Irv (Sue) Jolliffe of Morrison, CO and Rhonda (Scott) Hilgemann of Arapahoe, CO, grandchildren Breanna (Jake) Lightle and Deanna (Chris) Gramm all of Burlington, CO, and Zach Hilgemann of Loretto, MN, great-grandchildren TynLee, Beau, and McKenzie Lightle and Kayden Gramm, step-grandchildren Zaiba Ahmed, Donald Rugg, Michelle Smith, Jackie Bockenstette, Eric Rugg and 11 step great grandchildren, brother Buck of Alva, OK, and innumerable other family and friends. A memorial has been established with the Holyoke Federal Community Credit Union in Jane’s memory for later designation.
