Jane Phylis Nelson, 68, of Bettendorf passed away May 20, 2019 at Unity Point, Bettendorf. A memorial service will be 1pm Saturday with visitation 1 hour prior to service time at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will be at a later date in Monmouth.

Jane was born August 10, 1950 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of John P. and Norma J. Stoner Nelson. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Marycrest College and a Master’s Degree from University of Iowa, both in social work. She was a lifelong devout catholic.

Survivors include her siblings Margaret Chavez of Geneseo, IL, Jim (Dee) Nelson of Silvis, IL, John (Susie) Nelson of Bettendorf, IA, Bill (Allene) Nelson of Martinburg, WV, Mary (Michel) Johnson of Enid, OK, Barb Chenault of Monmouth, IL, Sherry (Gary) Lee of Monmouth, IL, Steve (Linda) Rutledge of Woodburry, GA, Joyce (Tommy) Talbott of Phoenix City, AL, Lisa Hull of Monmouth, IL and Christine (Jarvis) Melton of Boone, IA and 13 beloved nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Rutledge, and brother in law Mike Chavez.
