Obituary for Jane Tuck Morgan JANE TUCK MORGAN Jane Tuck Morgan passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018, in Columbia MD. She was 87. Born August 27, 1931 in Spartanburg SC and raised in Virgilina VA, she was the daughter of William Walter Tuck and Frances Pressley Tuck.

She married Archie Thomas Morgan, her college sweetheart, on June 28, 1952. Mrs. Morgan attended Virgilina High School and graduated from Stratford Hall in 1948. She attended The College of William and Mary, where she was initiated in Phi Mu Fraternity for women.

Mrs. Morgan graduated from Elon College with a Business degree in 1952. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan made their home and raised their family in South Boston VA, where they lived for almost thirty years. In 1989, they moved to Southern Pines NC, where they enjoyed retirement for more than twenty years.

Mrs. Morgan was an avid reader and bridge player. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, and membership in South Boston Garden Club. She volunteered with her daughters’ girl scout troops and schools and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church Women’s Circle in South Boston.

In later years, she learned to play golf and was a member of Knollwood Village Ladies’ Rainmakers golf group in Southern Pines. She was a member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church Women’s Circle in Southern Pines. She also enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, and crossword puzzles.

She is remembered as a gracious hostess and a witty Southern lady. Mrs. Morgan’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters and a wonderful “Nana” to her three grandsons and only granddaughter.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years and by her brother, William Pressley Tuck. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Brian Fulk of Richmond VA and The Republic of Malta, and Jenny and Mike Markwood of Columbia MD. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Clay Fulk and wife, Margaret, Millicent Fulk, Layton Markwood, and Morgan Markwood.

The family would like to thank staff of Elmwood of Southern Pines and Harmony Hall of Columbia for their care and compassion. A private Scattering will be held at Virgilina Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
