Obituary of Jane Mendello Jane Mendello, (nee Farris), 82, of Wayne, passed away on April 8, 2018. Jane was born in Marshall, IL on January 25, 1936 to the late Harold and Clem (Abrams) Farris. She received her diploma in nursing from Hackensack Hospital Nursing School in 1973.

Before retiring, she held a variety of nursing positions with her longest tenure at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. She briefly relocated to Florida, but returned to the area to spend more time with her family and friends. More recently, Jane enjoyed her time as an active part of the Siena Village Community.

She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She was also an avid NY Yankees fan. She was the cherished mother of James Mendello, Laura Vacca and her husband Nicholas and Lisa Mercurio and her husband Joseph and the beloved grandmother of Cecilia and Dominic Vacca and Daniel and Christian Mercurio.

She also leaves behind many close and lifetime friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Jack and Gene Farris. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave.

, Woodland Park, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 10:15am at St. Bonaventure Church, 174 Ramsey St., Paterson. Cremation will be private.
