JANET DOUGLAS November 17, 1935 – May 02, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Osage City–Janet Douglas, 83, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Osage Nursing Center in Osage City, Kansas. She was born on November 17, 1935 in Augusta, Kansas, the daughter of Glenn and Bessie Richie Markley. Janet grew up in Augusta and had lived in Neodesha and Emporia before moving to Osage City in 1987.

Janet was a Home Economics teacher at Neodesha for several years. She was also a substitute teacher, para educator and had taught night classes at Allen County Community College. She was very active in Girl Scouts, attended the Baptist church where she taught Sunday School and played the piano.

On June 11, 1961, Janet was married to Larry Douglas in Augusta, Kansas. Janet is survived by her husband Larry of the home; her three daughters, Janette (Joe) Dreier of Olpe, Paula (Robert) Tomlinson of Osage City and Debbie Douglas of Wichita; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren with one on the way. Funeral services for Janet will be at 10:30am on Monday, May 6 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time. Burial will be in the Neodesha City Cemetery at 3:00 on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Girl Scouts of the Flint Hills, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS.
