OBITUARY Janet Elaine Gaines August 22, 1954 – December 8, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Janet Elaine Gaines, age 64, of St. Louis, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on December 8, 2018 surrounded by her sisters, after a long illness. Janet was born August 22, 1954 in Chicago, IL to the late Leon and Pearl W. Gaines. Janet was a cherished sister to Karen Gaines and Myra Gaines; beloved Aunt to Brandon, whom was the light of her life; loving niece to 14 aunts, one of whom one is Joan Still, 15 uncles of whom two are Albert Still and Vernon Still; and cousin to many.

She graduated from Lindblom Technical High School in 1971. Janet then attended the University of Illinois of Champaign/Urbana and Wilbur Wright Junior College. She began her career with Chicago Public School Systems, then she worked for Combined Insurance Company.

Janet retired after 20 years of service with Wells Fargo Advisors, (formerly Wachovia Bank) as a computer programmer/ analyst. Janet loved traveling and “cruising” especially with her sisters. She checked off a trip on her bucket list last year, attending a solar eclipse in Nashville.

In her spare time, she loved completing logic puzzles, regular puzzles, and crocheting. Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 9:00 am until the time her funeral service at 11:00 am at Kenny Brothers Funeral Home (3600 W. 95th Street; Evergreen Park, IL ) Burial will be in Evergreen Park Cemetery.
