Janet Mantle Harris Ericson February 26, 1939-November 11, 2018 Janet, our phenomenal mother, peacefully passed away on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2018, at her son’s home, after an acute illness. Born February 26, 1939 in Murray, Utah to John W. Mantle and Matilda S. Knudsen, Mantle. Married Edward Joseph Harris on May 10, 1968 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He passed away August 11, 1973. Married Brent G. Ericson, later divorced. Janet was the most outgoing person you ever had the pleasure to meet.

She loved family and friends greatly, served the Lord and fellow-man without restraint. Janet’s love for scouting, singing, and the Constitution was apparent to all. Janet served an LDS mission in Tampa Florida.

Janet was never afraid to discuss politics or religion, and even ran for the Utah House of Representatives (Vote for Janet! ). Janet spent her life caring for others as an LPN, and her independence and strong-will followed her through her life as she was never in the same place for too long – both verbally or physically.

She is celebrated by her surviving family: John Marshall Ericson (Carma Solomon), Janet’s grandchildren, Sunshine, Shelby (Teaza) and Ess; Heather Garcia, Janet’s grandchildren, Alex and Samuel; brothers, George Eugene Mantle and John Ervin Mantle (April), many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by sister-in-law Kay Mantle. Graveside services will be held, Friday, November 23, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 6:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd.
