Janet Lynn Stroup, 68, of Waldorf, MD died April 27, 2019. She was born on June 30, 1950 in Washington, D.C. to the late Robert Warren Stroup and the late Virginia Stroup. She is survived by brothers Robert Warren Stroup, Jr. (Gail) and John David Stroup (Elaine), and nephew Timothy Stroup.

Janet was a career Federal employee with both the U.S. Postal Service and the Naval Research Laboratory. She was very intelligent, creative, well-read, and loved animals (anything from horses to house cats). She was a loving and beautiful daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and aunt.

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel on the New Life La Plata campus, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17. Interment will follow at Wesleyan Memorial Gardens behind the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janet’s name may be sent to the Humane Society of Charles County, 71 Industrial Park Drive, Waldorf, MD 20602.
