Janina Mirowski, 79, of Norwalk died on May 13, 2019 at Norwalk Hospital. The daughter of the late Antoni and Bronislawa Cielesz, she was the wife of the late Michael Mirowski. Janina was born in the village of Horaczki, but spent her youth in the city of Grodno.

The entire family moved to Poland in 1958. She travelled from Poland to the US in 1960, met her future husband, Michael, and married in September of 1962. They settled in Weston CT where they raised three sons.

Janina loved her family and especially loved spoiling and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She loved having them for sleepovers, cooking authentic polish food, gardening, reading, walking on the beach and feeding the birds. She will be greatly missed and loved forever by her extended family.

Janina is survived by her sons: Mark (Margaret) Mirowski of Fairfield, Bob (Christian) Mirowski of Stratford and Michael (Jennifer) Mirowski of Conifer, CO, seven grandchildren; Victoria, Alexandra, Theyla, Kaleigh, Matthew, Bronlyn, Zachary, two brothers Henry (Wladzia) Cielesz and Richard (Krystyna) Cielesz, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, from 5-8 PM at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, May 16 at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
