Jay “Jay Bird”‘s Obituary James David, “Jay Bird”, Summers, passed away January 31, 2019. He was born in the fall of 1961 to loving parents George Albert and Judith Ann (Hafer) Summers in El Paso, Texas. Jay loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and was a dedicated fan.

He enjoyed classic country and jazz music. Jay Bird loved to tell a good joke to make others laugh and was called friend by many. He is remembered for being smart and willing to share knowledge, as well as his huge grin and beloved “Jay-isms”.

He is preceded by his father George Albert Summers, first wife Doris Summers and second wife Diana Arechigh. He is survived by loving mother Judith Ann Summers of Andrews, Texas; sisters: Deborah and husband Kenneth Reese of Andrews, Lisa Kathleen and husband Max Gordon of Hobbs, New Mexico; step-children: Amanda Garcia and husband Justin Weatherford of Waxahachie, Lionel Garcia, III of Desoto and Andrea Garcia of Wilmer; he leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren. A memorial is planned for a later date.
