OBITUARY Jayamma John Thalachelloor February 2, 1959 – November 11, 2018 Mrs. Jayamma John was born on February 2, 1959 at Kavalam, Alappuzha, India as the fifth of nine children to her Parents – (Late) Mr. P.J. Joseph and Mariamma Pattarkalam. She married John Joseph (Sunnychen) in 1985. They started their life together at Kainakary, where their daughter – Jaimy, and son – Joseph were born.

Later they moved to Changananacherry where they were more blessed with their youngest son – Francis. Jayamma and Sunnychen lived their lives together serving God, raising their kids and taking care of their parents in Changanacherry. The Teachers Training School, was her home away from home where she spent more than 25 years and she retired as its Headmistress.

She loved doing simple things with great joy, taught the importance of giving back to the community, imparted good Christian values, and ensured to pass them on both to her children at home and her students at school. Singing was her passion. The family always enjoyed her humming of Christian devotionals and Malayalam classics.

She was always regarded as a spiritually evolved person. Jayamma was a loving and devoted wife; ‘Ammakutty’, to her children; ‘Jayamma teacher’ at school, ‘Chechi’ to her dear siblings and family; ‘Ammamma’ to Elsa and Matthew; And a lot more to people who knew her. After her retirement, she moved to the US with her children.

She endured all of her suffering with grace, embodied continued faith in God, and was a fighter till the very end.
