TOWNSEND, J.C. Age 84 of New Lebanon, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018. He was born in Varnell, Georgia on Jan.
13, 1934 to his parents, W.C. & Pearl (Holder) Townsend who precede him in death along with 7 siblings. J.C. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hiltraut “Peggy” Townsend; 2 daughters, Barbara (Daniel) Seim, Rosemary (Ronald) Smith; 3 sons, Charles Daniel (Lucinda) Townsend, Michael Townsend, and Walter Townsend; 5 grandchildren, Lacey (Brandon) Manchester, Jacob (Allison)… Read More » Seim, Lindsay (Kacey Komjati) Seim, Amanda Smith, and Lauren Smith; 2 great grandsons, Preston & Noah Manchester; and numerous other extended family and friends. J.C. was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne.
He retired from the Dayton V.A. after 25 years of service. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on from 1-2 PM on Monday, Jan.
7, 2019 at Rogers’ Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Procession will follow to Dayton National Cemetery for a graveside service with military honors beginning at 2:30 PM. www.
