Jean W. Unger, 97, was greeted in Heaven on June 18, 2018 by her beloved husband, Jack, and her parents, Charles and Mary Miller to whom she was born on August 19, 1920. She was a longstanding member of Manchester where she was a past president of the Manchester Women’s Republican Club. Jean loved spending time with her family, bird watching and she enjoyed traveling out west.

She was a longtime member of Lockwood United Methodist Church. Mom kept a beautiful home and was a wonderful cook. The coffee pot was always on, and many people dropped by to share their problems, hopes and dreams.

She was always ready to listen, we often teased her she could hang out her shingle. Left to miss her are her daughters, Nancy (Edward) Diebold and Patricia (John) Slosar; grandchildren, Edward (Julie) Diebold, Elisha (Bob) Menefee and Lauren and Jordan Slosar; four beautiful great-granddaughters, Isabelle Menefee, Kayla, Kasey and Mackenzie Raybuck; and her very special friends, Joanne Sponseller, Steve and Susie Hinkle, Nancy Dangel, Jodi Bearer; and niece and nephew, David and Linda Larson, of San Mateo, CA. Heaven received a special angel today.

We will all miss her dearly, but she will always be in our hearts. Love you! Bye Mom Friends may call at Bacher Funeral Home, 3326 Manchester Rd.

, Akron, OH 44319 on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. Rev. Dr. Vickie Hillman-Breckner officiating. Interment at Manchester Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Humane Society or One of a Kind Pet Rescue, in memory of Jean.
