OBITUARY Jean Merle McGhee Singley July 6, 1946 – January 13, 2019 Jean Merle McGhee Singley, age 72, of Axis, Alabama passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019. Jean was born July 6, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama to Marie Wells and Riley McGhee and attended Barton Academy. She worked 30 years at the Axis Post Office as a rural letter carrier.

She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, reading, and spending time with family. She will be deeply missed by many relatives and friends.

Jean is survived by her husband of 58 years, Aaron David Singley; daughter Connie Singley; and son Rick Singley; sister Gloria Cummins; grandchildren, Blake (Lacey) Singley, Courtney (Davin) Tucker, Ashton Singley, Peyton Singley, and Logan Singley; great-grandchildren, Willa Singley and Vanna Singley; nieces, Sylvia Cummins, Cynthia Khan, and Karen Anwar; nephews, Greg (Maggie) Cummins and Mark Cummins; and Frances Pierce. Jean was preceded in death by; son Michael Singley; father Riley McGhee and mother Marie Wells; twin sister Joan Nell Wells and brother Ronald Wells. A visitation for Jean will be held Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, Alabama 36571.

A celebration of life will occur Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Creola Cemetery, Creola, Alabama. Serving as pallbearers are Rick Singley, Blake Singley, Greg Cummins, Mark Cummins, Davin Tucker and David Jones.
