Obituary for Jean Murphy Jean Murphy, a resident of Thibodaux, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the age of 89. A visitation will be held at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 9:00 AM until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. She is survived by her nieces, Kendra Garitty and Dawn Wright; great-nieces, Audra Choate, Stacy Southall, and Ashley Carse; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Jaylon, Alden, Simone, Dylan, Marley, Nolan, Georgia, and Benjamin. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Stella Chandlee Murphy; siblings, Helen deFuentes, Robert Murphy, Dorothy Maurin, Catherine Murphy, Donald Murphy, Marylou Diasselliss, William Murphy, and Richard Murphy; and nieces, Daryl deFuentes Haren and Marialden deFuentes Zuckerman.

Jean was employed for many years at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center as a nurse anesthetic. She was also a Mt. Carmel Nun, known as Sister Dominic, for many years.
