OBITUARY Jean N.L. Jacques August 12, 1961 – December 25, 2018 Play Tribute Movie We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Jean Nicolas Lesly Jacques on December 25, 2018 after being struck by a truck. Lesly, as he is known to most, was born on August 12, 1961 in Haiti. He lived with his mother Bertha Elizabeth Jacques and two older brothers Jean-Yves Jacques and Patrick H Jacques.

Lesly grew up in Haiti and attended school up to College Canado-Haitien before moving to the United States to join his older brothers. When he moved to United States, he attended Hofstra University and earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and worked for Arrow Electronics for over 10 years. Lesly honorably served in the United States Army from 1990 to 1995.

During his time in the U.S. Army, he earned the following designations/medals: Army Commendation medal, National Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, and Marksman Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16 Lesly married Yolette Lahens in 1987. They lived in New York with their four children Lesly Jesus Jacques, Fauve Elizabeth Jacques, Jennifer Jacques, and Stefan Lesly Jacques. They lived on Long Island in New York.

They were married for 27 years before they divorced and remained friends. He raised his children with love, humor, affection, a strong arm, and lessons of family first and respect. In 2014, Lesly married Jean-Kesselle Ledan.

They lived together in Florida with Lesly’s mother before his passing. Kesselle assisted him during the progression of his Parkinson’s disease and took such loving care of him. Survived by his doting mother Bertha and wife Kesselle, his devoted and ever protective older brothers Jean-Yves and Patrick, his loving children Lesly, Fauve, Jennifer, and Stefan, his grandson Ethan Alexander Jacques and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends that will miss him dearly.

FLORIDA SERVICES Service and mass will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Matthew Catholic Church located at 542 Blue Heron Drive, Hallandale, FL 33009-5799. Mass will begin at 10:00 am and we welcome you to visit with us beginning at 9:15 am at the church. Following the mass, the family will be receiving people at Club Tropical Ballroom, 211 SE 1st Ave, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009.

NEW YORK SERVICES Memorial Service will be on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Claude R. Boyd – Caratozzolo Funeral Home located 1785 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Following the service, the family will be receiving people at the Jacques’ family home located 160 Villa Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. A Veteran Memorial Service honoring his service to the country will be held at 10 am on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Long Island National Cemetery located at 2040 Wellwood Ave, Wyandanch, NY 11798.
