YOUNG, Jean, age 92, of Dayton, her life came to rest Friday, December 7, 2018. Jean was born November 30, 1926 to Walter Daugherty and Alberta (Braxton). She confessed her hope in Christ as her Savior and was baptized at an early age.

Jean joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she met and married George Young in June 1947, and to this union seven children were born. Over the years, Jean served on the Mother’s Board and Deacon Wives. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, and the heart of her children’s lives.

Jean was friendly to all and had a very special spirit. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She also loved playing games and enjoyed the fellowship at the GSJ Senior Center.

“Mother Dear” will be truly missed and will forever be in our hearts. Preceded in death by her husband, George Young; daughter, Carol Young. She leaves loving memories to her children: Frances Johnson, Joyce Hunter, George Young (Jan), Barbara Young, Milton Young and Mark Young; proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 10 am Friday, December 14, 2018 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Ave. Visitation 9 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
