JEANETTE LYNN CAPLINGER, 69 of Ogallala, passed away April 18, 2019, at her home. Jeanette was born October 25, 1949, at Bloomington, Illinois to Harold Russell and Margaret Dora (Bean) Bell. She attended Mount Pulaski High School, where she graduated with the class of 1967.

Jeanette would eventually meet William “Cappy” Caplinger, and the two were married on September 18, 1969, at Portage, Indiana. Their union was blessed with six children. The couple made their home in Lincoln, Illinois before moving to Springfield, Missouri in 1986.

While in Springfield, Jeanette went to work for City Utilities as the first female custodian. She would eventually work her way into a position as a dispatcher. Jeanette and Cappy also owned and operated Koala Cleaning Service together, where they made many wonderful friends over the years.

Upon retiring from the utility company in 2013, Jeanette would focus more closely on her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness, and became a full-time pioneer minister. Most recently, the couple had been living in Ogallala, to be close to family. Jeanette was dedicated to her family and her faith.

She loved animals, especially her dogs. Jeanette also liked to travel and take road trips. She came from a large family, and always appreciated spending time at family reunions over the years.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Russell Bell; sister, Wilma Vannoy; grandson, Kody Caplinger; and a great-grandson, Lucas Caplinger. Survivors include her husband of nearly fifty years, William “Cappy” Caplinger of Ogallala; children, William “Bill” Caplinger Jr. and his fiance Chandra of Springfield, MO, Darian (Carolyn) Caplinger of Springfield, MO, Kristian Caplinger of Springfield, MO, Jeanelle (Michael) Bloomquist of Brule, Michelle J’Ne’ (Jared) Clapper of Everton, MO, Douglas (Anita) Caplinger of Springfield, MO; siblings, Art (Janice) Bell of Auxasse, MO, Karen Hickman of Auxvasse, MO, Shirley Smith of Russellville, AR, Debra (Billy) Long of Fredericktown, MO; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ogallala.

Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ogallala. There will be services in Springfield, MO on Saturday, May 25 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 3430 S Fremont Ave, Springfield, MO 65804.
