Jeanette Lavista, age 91 of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Nicholas Lavista, passed away October 20, 2018 at Shelton Lakes. Jeanette was born in New York, NY, July 23, 1927, daughter of the late John and Mary DeSimone Pettinato. She was known for her fashion sense, being a trend setter, being very house proud, and entertaining family and friends who she loved very much.

Her door was always open as her friendship knew no barriers. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Bourdoulous and her husband Robert, and Doreen Lavista and her husband Scott Peterson, her grandchildren Paul Bourdoulous and his wife Kristie, Jeffrey Bourdoulous and his wife Romina, Robert A. Bourdoulous and his wife Sara, and Michael Holutiak and his life partner Scott Merwede, her great grandchildren Chloe, Nicholas, Noah, Joshua, Ava, Daxton, Grayson, and Tessa Bourdoulous. Graveside services will be held Wednesday October 24, 2018 at 11:30 AM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation at www. nationalbreastcancer.org, or to a charity of one’s choice in Jeanette’s memory.

The James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Ave. , Shelton has been entrusted with arrangements.
