Jeanne Antoinette Grady, 72, of Champaign, passed away peacefully at 11:16PM on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Carle Foundation Hospital. Jeanne was a fierce mother and grandmother, a loving sister, and a loyal friend. Jeanne, born September 28, 1946 to Anthony and Hazel Remesch, was raised in Ludlow, IL.

Throughout her life, however, she lived all over the U.S. and around the world, from France to the Panama Canal Zone, from Illinois to Florida, she was a fearless traveler. Jeanne was dearly loved and cherished, and will be deeply missed, by her family and friends. She loved and cared for people through her love of cooking, writing, and sewing.

She enjoyed being a Cub Scout mother and a 4-H leader. She was a wonderful storyteller and a great listener. Jeanne encouraged all the people in her life to pursue their passions and to love others deeply.

Jeanne’s legacy will carry on through her children: Donna Brogdon, Daniel (Karen) Grady, Jeffrey (Kari) Grady, and Jennifer (Andrew) Burnett; her grandchildren: Larra (Alexander) Kelly, Keisha Grady, Lyndie Burnett, Hannah Burnett, Alexandria Grady, Krystal Grady, Molly Brogdon, Bailey Burnett, Courtney Grady, Artem Burnett, Hazel Burnett, Kyle (Briana) Reed, and Kurt (Jessica) Maske; her great-grandchildren: Braiden Grady, Kyleen Wooten, and Kaleb Reed; her siblings: Kathryn (Robert) Sarnecki, Anthony Remesch, David Remesch, Monica (Mick) Munds, and sister-in-law Joyce Remesch; her nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Jeanne has gone to rejoin her parents and siblings: Mary Waller, Ginger Timpone, Michael Remesch, Hazel Bertha Remesch, who went before her. “Lucy woke out of the deepest sleep you can imagine, with the feeling that the voice she liked best in the world had been calling her name”.

– Prince Caspian, C.S. Lewis In accordance with Jeanne’s wishes, she will be cremated. Friends may greet the family at a visitation from 5:00-7:00 on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5-7PM at Meadowbrook Community Church (1902 S. Duncan Rd. ) and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10 AM, also at the church.

In the future there will be a family service where she will be buried in a biodegradable living urn, which will in turn plant an oak tree.
