OBITUARY Jeanne Souza July 27, 1929 – November 25, 2018 Jeanne (Chenel) Souza, of Pocasset, MA, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Cape Heritage surrounded by her loving children. She was the wife of the late Maurice Gosselin and the late Edward Souza. Born in New Bedford, MA, a daughter of the late Albert and Kathleen (Yates) Chenel and sister to the late Albert Chenel, the late Donald Chenel, the late Diane Hiebel, and grandmother to the late Christopher Melanson.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Kathleen Schauerman of FL, Valerie Catt of Bourne & Judy Tangredi of NY, 2 daughters, Debra Melanson & her Fiancé Matt Bridges of Sandwich and Valerie Kennedy & her Fiancé Matt Maryanski of Nantucket; 2 sons, Maurice (Moe) Gosselin & wife Sally of Pocasset and Raymond Gosselin & wife Mary of Martha’s Vineyard; 6 grandchildren; Jennifer, Meghan, Chenel, Chelsea, Todd & Carl and 5 great-grandchildren; Sophia, Christopher, William, Dustin & Myles. Jeanne is also survived by Lesley Usher her special Angel. Jeanne worked at Titleist Golf Ball Company in New Bedford as quality control.

After moving to the cape she got a job at Cape Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay and worked there in the Laundry department until retirement. In retirement Jeanne lived a very busy life, traveling on cruises and going on adventures. She loved hanging with her friends either going on bus trips to Foxwoods or just a Friday night game of cards and white zinfandel!

A woman always dressed to the nines, Jeanne lived a long, happy adventurous life! A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 3rd at St. John’s the Evangelist Church 841 Shore Road Pocasset, MA. Interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.

Visitation 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd. , Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
