Jeannie Moncrief August 31, 1950 – February 05, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Jeannie Moncrief passed away on February 5, 2019. She was born on August 31, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri to Wayne and Maleta Forsberg. Jeannie graduated from Wichita East High School in 1968 and studied art and ceramics at Kansas State University.

She was a lifelong, dedicated KSU Wildcat fan. On February 16, 1974, Jeannie and Bob Moncrief were united in marriage in Wichita, Kansas. Jeannie and Bob were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Kelsey Megan Moncrief, on August 26, 1984, and a son, Nicholas Jordan Moncrief, on November 18, 1985.

Jeannie and Bob lived and worked near Baxter Springs, Kansas, where they owned and operated their family greenhouse. Upon retirement, they settled full-time in Shell Knob, Missouri, where they designed and built their dream home on Table Rock Lake. Throughout her life, Jeannie shared her many talents and helped others.

She worked with many organizations supporting differently-abled children, the arts, and animal welfare. Jeannie loved the lake life. She and Bob loved hosting their friends and family at their beautiful home.

She was especially fond of her Full Moon Bay neighbors and enjoyed planning parties and gatherings. Jeannie was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Forsberg; her sister-in-law, Marsha Lynch; and niece, Elizabeth Lynch. Survivors include her husband, Bob Moncrief; her mother, Maleta Forsberg; her children, Kelsey and Nicholas Moncrief; her sisters, Lori Swift and Lesly Forsberg; her brothers-in-law, Mark Swift and Kent Lynch; her sister-in-law, Dana Lynch; nephews and nieces-in-law, Arian Taherzadeh, Andrew and Azin Taherzadeh, Matthew and Christin Swift, Thomas and Sondra Swift, and Robert and Monica Swift; great-nieces and -nephews, Elle, Charlotte, Matthew, and Harrison Swift, and Avina Taherzadeh.

A private memorial service was held on Friday, February 8, 2019. Memorial funds have been established in Jeannie’s honor with the Nelson Atkins Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, and Homeward Trails Animal Rescue in Arlington, Virginia.
