Jeffrey Dees Boyd, 61, passed away, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory. Born in Iuka on July 17, 1957 to Sydney and Joan Dees Boyd, Jeff grew up in Ripley and graduated Ripley High School. He later graduated from the University of Mississippi earning a Master’s degree in accounting worked as a CPA.

In his early professional career, he was the CPA for Goolsby Construction. He had worked for Lindsey and Davis Accounting, ILM Accounting, and was CFO in the furniture industry before going into private practice. Jeff loved to have a good time and he loved all things Ole Miss and he was an avid Atlanta Braves fan attending many games.

Jeff played golf as often as he could and loved to compete in golf tournaments until his eyesight failed. Fulfilling a dream, he was able to attend the Master’s Tournament in Augusta. Although, the beach was his favorite, Jeff would travel just about anywhere and he loved to cook out for his family which a crawfish boil would top the list.

A quiet man, loved by many, he also extended that same love to others also. Eli, his Yorkie, would make every step he did. Jeff was a member of the First Assembly of God in Amory where he and his wife attended.

Family was his most important endeavor and he loved to talk of his children and grandchildren also enjoying their visits. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Pastor Justin Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time.

There will also be a funeral service for Jeff at 11 a.m. on Friday morning at McBride Funeral Home in Ripley with Rev. Jody Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time.

Burial will be in the Ripely Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kimberly Sloan Boyd of Amory; daughters, Jennifer Roland (Preston) of Jacksonville, FL, Laura Boyd of Tyler, TX, and Madison Boyd Allred (Zach) of Amory; sons, Randle Boyd (Lauren) of Ripley, Matthew Mooney (Laura) of Madison, MS and Joshua Mooney (Bobbie) of Carthage, MS; his parents, Sydney and Joan Boyd of Memphis; his brother, Steve Boyd (Cindy) of Cordova, TN; grandchildren, Abby, Michael, James, Lena Grace, Noah, Layla, Sophie, Bailey, Tanner, Maddie Kate, Maddox, Maylee, and Levi; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, and aunts. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vance and Hildreth Dees and Sydney and Fannie Kate Boyd and an uncle, Edwin Dees.

Pallbearers will be Josh Mooney, Zach Allred, Keith Thurmond, John Mauney, Joe Akins, Rob Holditch, Preston Roland, and Steve Hill.
