Obituary for Jennifer Gail (Stokes) Gunderson Jennifer Gail (Stokes) Gunderson, 42, of Spring Lake Park, MN passed away unexpectedly at home on July 1st after a long battle with lupus, chronic pain, and depression. Born on October 18, 1975 in Hillsboro, IL to parents, Forrest Stokes and Carolyn (Mormino) Stokes. The family later relocated to Bentonville, AR where Jennifer met many life long friends and graduated a proud Bentonville Tiger.

Jennifer spent much of her career working in retail, which she loved and thrived. While working for Walmart she transferred to Minnesota in the late 90’s and later worked for a family friend owned business, 4D. She finished her working career at Bon Ton Stores as an executive assistant to Gary Pralle, whom she admired so much.

Becoming permanently disabled in 2012, she stayed home her final six years with her boys. Jennifer met Ryan Gunderson in 2005, they married in 2006 and had their first son, Nevin in 2007. The family welcomed Noah in 2009.

Jennifer loved her boys so much. The family enjoyed visiting family in Illinois, Arkansas, and California. Jennifer loved telling stories about her grandpa Ross, and also loved her pets Josie, Hanz, and Bella.

She was a fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Razorback and SEC football, and may have even had a soft spot for her husband’s beloved Gophers. Jennifer is survived by her loving husband and boys, parents Forrest (Virginia) Stokes of Hillsboro, IL, Carolyn Stokes (and family friend Mary Reiland) of Golden Valley, MN, sister Tamara (Michael) Rice of Santa Clarita, CA, in-laws Darwin and Brenda Gunderson of St. Peter, MN, brother-in-laws David (Annette) Gunderson, Michael (Tamela) Gunderson and James Gunderson, nephews Sheldon Rice, Carson Gunderson, Kaylon and Kyzer Gunderson, nieces Makenzie and Peighton Gunderson, and Michaela Rice, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents Rosario and Marjorie Mormino, Bill and Dorothy Stokes, nephew Parker Gunderson and friend Christopher Reiland.

Services will be held Friday, July 6 at 11:30am at the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church 9931 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55433. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to service. In Lieu of flowers, direct memorials to the family.
