OBITUARY Jermaine Damon Alexander August 17, 1973 – December 13, 2018 Jay Alexander (August 17, 1973 – December 13, 2018) Jermaine “Jay” Alexander passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 in Frisco, Texas. Jay was born Friday, August 17,1973 to Elaine Alexander, in Detroit, Michigan. Jay grew up in Detroit and was a star athlete at Murray Wright High School.

Upon graduating in 1991, Jay entered and served in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving his country at home and abroad. Jay then enrolled at the University of North Texas (UNT), where he walked on to the football team and studied Anthropology and Sociology from 1996-1999. Upon completion of his education at UNT, Jay began work as an engineer in the telecommunications industry, where he worked until his passing.

Jay was known for his big smile and bigger heart. He was incredibly kind and generous, always putting others before himself. He was a true conversationalist and was well read in a variety of subjects – sports, politics, nutrition, and technology to name a few.

He was an avid fan of Detroit sports. He had a passion for fitness and nutrition, and was known to spend several hours a day in the gym. Most of all, he was a devoted father, son and grandson.

His pride and love for his son, KJ, was apparent to even casual acquaintances. He was also proud of his Detroit roots and never forgot where he came from. Jay will be so incredibly missed by all those fortunate enough to encounter him in life.
