Jerome “Jerry” A. Reinke, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Jerry was born to the late George and Antoinette (Coenen) Reinke on January 14, 1944. He was enlisted in the Army where he served his country in Korea; Jerry was very proud of being a veteran.

Jerry loved camping, especially with his family at Flanagan’s Pearl Lake. He loved spending time with his lifelong friends whether it be a phone call or visiting at one of the yearly parties. Jerry spent many mornings with his breakfast buddies at the Golden Basket.

Most of all, Jerry adored his children and grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his children: Brian Reinke, Jennifer (Greg) Kinley, and Jason (Melinda) Reinke; his grandchildren: Riley Reinke and Noah Kinley; his loving canine companion Toby; his siblings: Mary (Melvin) Schmidt, Alice Schultz, Jean (Richard) Neubauer, and Carol (Mike) Bunnell; brother-in-law Tony Schmidt; and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Georgie Reinke; sister Joann Schmidt; brothers-in-law: Herman Schultz and Michael Van Heuklon; and his dogs: Shane, Duke, and Tanner.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. A funeral mass for Jerry will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at SAINT JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 404 W Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. James Leary OFM Cap.

Officiating. Visitation will be held the night before on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at BRETTSCHNEIDER TRETTIN NICKEL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 606 N Oneida Street, Appleton, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Visitation will resume the following day at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to: the nurses and care staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital; Special CNAS at Brewster Village (you know who you are); caring staff at Fresenius Kidney Care; and numerous neighbors, friends, breakfast buddies, and family that surrounded Jerry on a daily basis.
