OBITUARY Jerry D. Benefiel April 3, 1933 – November 17, 2018 Jerry D. Benefiel, also known as Mom, Mamaw, Sis, and Aunt Jerry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the age of 85 years. She was born on April 3, 1933, in Steele, Missouri, daughter of the late Robert L. Williams and Joy Edith Williams. Jerry is survived by three daughters, Linda Joy Roos and her husband James Wesley Roos, of Salem, MO, Tina Lynn Quick of St. Louis, and Patti Jo Duncan of St. Louis; one son, James David Benefiel of O’Fallon, MO; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, JoElla Beegle; one brother, Henry “Hank” A. Williams and his wife Gini Williams.

She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Benefiel; and her sister, Betty Lou Vaughn. Jerry was a hairdresser in both Bridgeton and Salem, Missouri for many years.

Later in life, she ventured into real estate with her sister at Century 21. Both professions suited her perfectly because Jerry loved to talk to people and she was “the life of the party” type of lady. She enjoyed playing bingo & board games, singing, swimming, listening to Big Band music, and being entertained.

Most of all, she cherished the quality time spent with her family and her friends. She will be remembered as a deep thinker and could share her thoughts and family stories with others for hours. She was quite witty with a sharp tongue and loved her family deeply.

She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Memorial donations may be made in Jerry’s name to American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
