Mr. Jerry Dean Roberson, 78 of Broad Rd. , Tignall entered into rest on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Country Manor, Tignall, Georgia. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2p.m. at Pope’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the sanctuary at the church beginning at 1:00 until the hour of the service. Mr. Roberson, son of the late Alden Lathan and Lillie Hampton Roberson, was born on August 16, 1940 in Leicester, North Carolina. When he was 11 years old, his family moved to Wilkes County and graduated from Washington Wilkes High School in 1959.

He had served in the US Navy, was Methodist and was a member of Hiram #51 F&AM in Danburg. When he was younger, he had been a dairy farmer and retired from Wilkes County as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. His love was farming, and raising cattle and chickens.

His son, Sandy Roberson and brother, Larry Roberson, preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Gwyn Roberson and wife Angie and Jeremiah Cole Roberson; daughter, Dawn R. Guin and husband Joseph all of Tignall; brothers, Alden Roberson, Martinez, Joe Roberson, Tignall, and Gayle Roberson of Washington; 9 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren.
