Obituary for Mr. Jerry Delmar Legg Duffield, VA 2 Corinthians: We are confident, I say, that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the lord. Jerry Delmar Legg, age 77, departed this life in the early hours of Tuesday (December 11, 2018) unexpectedly. Jerry was a sales manager for Legg Ford Sales in Big Stone Gap for many years.
He then opened his own business (Duffield Motors), where he worked until his retirement. After his retirement he worked at Horizon Homes in Norton, VA until his passing. He was a veteran of Vietnam and a lifelong member of East Stone Gap Alumni.
Jerry attended Zions Chapel Church in Big Stone Gap, VA. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Fraley Legg; one daughter Karen Michelle Legg of Duffield, VA; His mother Lillian B. Legg; Brother Morgan W Legg Jr (Sondra) of Big Stone Gap; two sisters; Lesia Legg Estep (Gene) of Duffield, VA and Myra Legg Puleo (Philip) of Big Stone Gap, VA; Mother in-law Eula Mae Rhoten Taylor, several nieces and nephews, special pets Trixie and Bitsy. The family will receive friends on Friday (Dec 14) from 5- 7p.
m for the visitation at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastor Roger Jenkins officiating. The committal service will be held on Saturday (Dec.
15) at Fraley Cemetery in Pattonsville VA. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at Holding Funeral Home at 10:30 to go in procession to the cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.
