Obituary for Jerry F. Young Jerry F. Young, 85, of Scottsbluff, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Yuma, Arizona. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A Rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018 and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 both at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Father Vince Parsons officiating.

dugankramer.com Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Jerry was born September 19, 1932 at Greeley, Colorado to Harold Francis and Blanche (Eubank) Young. He was united in marriage to Eileen C. Major on October 25, 1951 at Loveland, Colorado.

Jerry attended Colorado State University in Ft. Collins and worked as an Agriculturist for Great Western Sugar in Big Springs, NE and was Ag Manager for Western Sugar at Bayard, NE, Ft. Morgan, CO, and Scottsbluff, NE totaling over 40 years in the Sugar Industry.

Jerry was the fire chief and EMT for the Big Springs Volunteer Fire Department, President of the Optimist Club at Big Springs, President of the Lions Club at Bayard as well as the Men’s Club at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bayard. He was President of the Rotary Club in Julesburg and Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Julesburg. He was Pro-Life Chairman for Knights of Columbus in Scottsbluff, volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Yuma, AZ, and judge at the Morrill County Fair in Bridgeport.

He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff. Jerry enjoyed wood carving, gardening, collecting antiques, old clocks, and Husker memorabilia, and enjoyed supporting the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also enjoyed traveling and got to see many beautiful sights and countries.

He was an avid reader and learned some technical skills reading on his Kindle. Jerry is survived by his wife of 66 years Eileen C. Young of Scottsbluff; children Darrell Young of Westminister, CO, Debra (Larry) Young of Elm Creek, NE, Diane (Ron) Eickhoff of Lincoln, NE, Don Young of Gering, NE, and Dean (Linda) Young of Greeley, NE; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn (Al) Andres of Ft. Collins, CO; brother William (Suzanne) Young of Green Valley, AZ; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
