Memorial Service Strang Community Fire Department 201 S. East St. Strang, OK August 25, 2018 **The time is still to be determined. Jerry Glyn Nelson, 67, of Jay, was born August 25, 1950 in Lequire, OK to Cecil Nelson and Reba (Jones) Clark. He passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side at his home by the lake on the night of April 14, 2018 in Jay, OK.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who found peace amongst the beauty of nature. He loved fishing and hunting almost as much as the open road. He was a lifetime Harley owner and a proud member of the Rogues Motorcycle Club.

Jerry was a newly saved Christian but by nature, he was already a caring man with the kindest of hearts. His three children were his pride and joy. His love for them was only surpassed by that for his grandchildren who were his heart and soul.

It is through them that his compassionate legacy will live on for future generations. He is survived by his wife, Vanessa Vickers-Nelson; daughter, Mindy Pettigrew and husband Jack; sons, Robert Nelson and Jason Nelson; grandchildren, Kinley Gabriel, Jacob Sutherland, Avarie McCutchin, Eve Pettigrew, Abel Nelson, Kenna Gabriel, Caleb Nelson and Tyler Nelson; brothers, Wayne Nelson, Tommy Nelson and wife Alma; sisters, Linda Kay Nelson-Marrs and husband David and Debra Clark Mischel and husband Jim; uncles, Colman Nelson, Jack Nelson, and Roy Nelson; aunt, June Bowen-Tarr; mother, Earlene Nelson-Lambert; cousins, Jimmy Nelson, Mike Nelson and Debra Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Nelson and Reba Clark; grandfather, Monroe Nelson; grandmother, Demma Moon-Bowen; sister, Nancy Nelson-Yingst; uncles, Leonard Nelson and Bill Bowen; aunts, Lenora Bowen-McKibben and Pauline Nelson; and cousins, Larry Nelson and Johnny Nelson.
