Funeral services for Jerry Johnson, 80, of Brazoria will be Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Temple A.M.E. Church in Brazoria with Rev. Mark Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Mims Cemetery in Brazoria, TX.

He passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Memorial Hermann- Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX. He was a member of Zion Temple A.M.E. Church. He enjoyed gardening and playing dominoes.

He was an avid sports fan. He loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fielding Johnson, Sr. and Harriet Johnson; son, Bobby Johnson; sister, Isabel Higgins and Lelia Brown; brothers, Waymond Johnson, Isaac Johnson and Fielding Johnson, Jr

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his loving and devoted wife, Mary Lee Johnson, Brazoria; son, Marvelous Johnson (Susan), Clute; daughter, Joyce Williams, Fresno; step-sons, Selwyn Marshall, Austin and Rayfield “Tiny” Bell, Jr., Houston; step-daughters, Latie Johnson (Darrell) and Anjanette Hill (Ken) both of Brazoria; brothers, Alphonse Johnson, Sr. Angleton, Pendleton Johnson (Mary), John Johnson (Clara) and Roosevelt Johnson, Sr. (Laura) all of Brazoria; uncle, Henry Johnson, Freeport; brothers-in-law, William Brown, Angleton and Phelp Higgins, Brazoria; sister-in-law, Eunice Johnson, New Hava, Connecticut; special cousin, Alice Moore, Brazoria, 6 grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Rayfield Bell, Jr., Reginald Brown, Lee Otis Simple, Darrell Austin, Sr., Darrell Johnson and Bobby Crump, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Trustees of Zion Temple Church, Nolan Darthard, Jr. Roosevelt Johnson, Jr., Ken Hill, Michael Johnson, Frank Foster, Brandon Johnson, Cameron Johnson and Donald Randon. Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a wake service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be viewing on the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. There will be no viewing afterward.
