OBITUARY Jerry Mac West May 7, 1956 – February 3, 2019 Jerry Mac West, age 62, of Erwin departed this life on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was born May 7, 1956 in Harnett County, North Carolina to the late Lawrence Edward West and the late Hilda Jean Strickland West. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Edward West.

Jerry Mac was a construction worker by trade and enjoyed building things with his hands. In his younger years he was an avid fisherman. He was a simple man, who enjoyed getting together with family and friends for a good meal.

Jerry Mac was straight forward and sharp with his tongue, you never had to guess where you stood with him. He was not a weak man, but one who was staunch and of strong will. He was a man who was able to answer with ascendancy when life’s trials called; such as drinking and smoking, which he laid aside with ease when he made up his mind.

Jerry leaves behind to mourn his passing, his son: Gary West and wife Carrie of Erwin; granddaughter: Darian K. Locklear; grandson: Tyler Davisson; great-granddaughter: Aiden Heath Rock; sister: Gail Locklear of Norfolk, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. In accordance with Jerry’s request, he was cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the Family Life Center at Antioch Church of Erwin, 494 Antioch Church Road, Erwin, NC 28339.
