Jerry Beaver, age 78, of Amity, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. He was born on April 13, 1940, in Lenoir, North Carolina, the son of Vilas Beaver and Pearl Grear Beaver. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Laura Mae Higginbotham; his parents; and his sister, Lois Beaver.

He was Pentecostal in his faith and worked for many years in tree service. He enjoyed singing karaoke, traveling, camping, but his greatest joy in life was talking with his family and friends. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Garland and Paula Beaver of Lenoir, North Carolina; two grandsons, Nick Beck and Noel Beaver; three brothers, Joe Beaver of North Carolina, Floyd Beaver and his wife, Ann, and Sonny Beaver, all of Elizabethton, Tennessee; two sisters, Azalee Burris and her husband, Danny, of Springfield, Missouri and Shirley “Lucille” Beaver of Elizabethton, Tennessee; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www. davis-smith.com.
