BENJAMIN, Jessie M., was born January 2, 1927 in Biloxi, MS to Jesse Eaton and Verneada Batte. She grew up in Jackson, MS and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She married O.S. Benjamin and became the mother of four children.

She worshiped at Bethel Church of God in Christ for 35 years, then, came to Mt. Olivet Church of God in Christ in May of 1983 under the leadership of Pastor Ozell Northern where she served until her health failed. Preceded in death by husband, O.S. Benjamin Sr.; children, O.S. Benjamin Jr., Robertson C. Benjamin and Grace M. Benjamin; brothers, L. C. Harper and Robertson C. Harper; aunt, Jeanette B. Carruthers.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Taylor (Norman Napier); cousin, Willie Rivera of New York City, NY; brother-in-law, Willie Smith; a host of grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren; Mother Mary Eaton of Columbia, MS; dear friends, Orile Hutchinson and Vinie Walker. Funeral service 11 am Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Mt. Olivet C.O.G.I.C., 920 S. Euclid Ave.

Visitation 9-11 am. Family will receive friends 10-11 am. Interment West Memory Gardens.
