OBITUARY Jessie L Stanford August 10, 1932 – November 18, 2018 JESSIE LOUISE HEUSZEL STANFORD, born August 10, 1932 near Livingston, Texas, ran into the arms of Jesus at 7:01 a.m., Sunday, November 18, 2018 (just in time for Sunday Worship). Jessie was the youngest of six children born to Jesse and Mittie Heuszel. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers Ted Heuszel, Alvie Heuszel, Louis Heuszel, and Leland Heuszel, and a sister, Helen Bizzell.

Jessie is survived by her husband, Gene Melvin Stanford, daughter Terri Howard (husband Mark), daughter Melanie Bryant (husband Joel) and a son, Kevin Stanford. Jessie is also survived by eight grandchildren: Melissa Howard Melnyk (husband Walt), Jeremy Howard (wife Kristin), Kyle Bryant (wife Sammie), Kristen Bryant, Kelli Bryant Moore (husband Clint), and Rebecca Bryant; and four great-grandchildren: Katie Melnyk, Colton Melnyk, Brooklyn Howard, and William Howard. Jessie was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.

She loved music, especially church music. In her younger days, Jessie sang in a ladies trio, and regularly played the church piano or organ while Melvin led congregational singing at Harbor Baptist Church. Melvin and Jessie were married in October,1954 and relished their 64 years of married life together.

She was Melvin’s best friend since the age of 12. Jessie raised her children to love the Lord and she was an example of Christian service through the years at Harbor Baptist, First Baptist Jacinto City, FBC Conroe, and FBC Kingwood. Jessie was an avid reader, enthusiastic gardener, recreational bird-watcher, and diligent “jigsaw puzzler”.

She was the perfect hostess, a fantastic cook, and complete homemaker (even sewing her children’s clothes). Jessie was the true picture of a godly woman, wife, and mother. Though we grieve, we do not sorrow as those who have no hope for we know that Jessie is safe in the arms of Jesus.
