Jewell Tilley Qualls, long time resident of Heber Springs, went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2018 at Baptist Health in Little Rock. She was a faithful member of the Heber Springs First Assembly of God. On August 22, 1936, she was born to Thomas and Dessie Tilley in Marianna, Arkansas.

She attended Rhondo Schools where she graduated Valedictorian of her high school class. She was a devout Christian and her family is a testimony to that. She was employed at Baptist Health Medical Center Heber Springs for 17 years and was the first to retire from the new facility located on the bypass.

She loved her family, reading, crocheting, Christian television, and a good cup of hot Sanka. She enjoyed cooking big meals for anyone who came through her doors. Her favorite story to tell was of her going to Elvis Presley concerts when she was a teenager.

Her husband, Ardith Qualls, preceded her in death. Together they had four children, Randy Qualls, the late Larraine Parsons, Dianne Barnett, and Krystal Mullens. She was also motherly to her children’s spouses: Marlene Qualls, Mike Parsons, Lem Barnett, and David Mullens.

She has two living sisters, Evelyn Mooneyhan and Tommie Poff, both of Heber Spring. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Norene Patterson of Arkansas and Dorothy Stewart of Florida. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Shawn Parsons, Heather Parsons, Michael Worch, David Qualls, Rashea Barnett-Pettigrew, Julie Allender, Matthew Mullens, Kory Mullens, and Dustin Mullens.

Also, by 9 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many other family and friends. There will be a celebration of life for Jewell at Heber Springs Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with the funeral following immediately after at 11:00 am.

Burial will be at Heber Springs Cemetery.
