Jim Bob Porter November 15, 1928 – April 29, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card James Robert Porter (Jim Bob), 90 of Lampasas, Texas died Monday April 29, 2019 in Belton. He was born November 15, 1928 in Kerrville, TX to parents Marvin Randolph Porter and Elizabeth (Castleberry) Porter. Jim Bob completed high school and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Elsie Druesdow September 26, 1955 in Lampasas County. He was a farmer and rancher 51 years on his ranch 10 miles west of Lampasas, near Nix. Jim Bob was a Christian, member of Farm Bureau and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a devoted Husband and Father who enjoyed dancing with his wife for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards and dominos with friends. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Porter Son, James David Porter of McGregor Daughters; Brenda Porter Oestreich of Lampasas Betty Renfro and husband Lynn of Belton 4 grandchildren; James Alden Oestreich, Augustus Blake Oestreich and wife Paige, Faith Elise Renfro, Lane Wilson Renfro Jim Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside funeral service will be Monday May 6, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Nix Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Bright Focus Foundation for macular degeneration research, Nix Cemetery Association or Nix Community Center.
